I grieve for the victims of our culture of destruction. The high school graduate shot as collateral damage at their graduation party. The toddler killed in their crib by a drive by shooting. School children, teachers, and others targeted for death.
The loved ones left behind can no longer anticipate or receive hugs or snuggles or give them.
I also grieve for the shooters. Life has so overwhelmed them that they have given up. Sometimes for a moment when a gun is used as a primal scream. Sometimes planned to project pain in a primal scream.
They have traded the comfort of future hugs and snuggles for the embrace of destruction.
